[WSK] Invitation to Gwangju World Music Festival

Dear members of World Students in Korea,

How are you holding up in this baking heat and humidity?
Hope everyone is doing fine.

I would like to inform you of the Gwangju World Music Festival 2010 that is scheduled to be held from August 27 to 29 in Gwangju.

It is a music festival that invites international musicians to give performances to the domestic audience as well as promoting collaboration with Korean musicians with their international counterparts, allowing for communication across cultures through music. Over 30 world-class musicians from 15 countries will participate.

One of the agencies our Council is acquainted with, INFOMaster, has proposed to offer rides, meals, tours, and guide to those WSK students who wish to participate in the festival.

Below is the itinerary (subject to revision).

Date: August 28 (Saturday)

07:00 Gather at Gwanghwamun (In front of Donghwa Duty Free Shop)
07:00 - 11:00 Bus ride to Gwangju (Breakfast in the bus)
11:00 - 13:30 Visit tourist spots / Lunch
13:30 - 14:00 Enter the festival venue
14:00 - 15:10 Festival
15:10 - 17:00 Exhibitions
17:00 - 21:30 Bus ride back to Seoul
21:30 Disperse

오는 8월 27일(금)부터 29일(일)까지 광주월드뮤직페스티벌 2010이 개최됨을 알려드립니다.

광주월드뮤직페스티벌은 아시아문화중심도시 광주를 상징할 수 있는 국제적인 문화컨텐츠 육성의 일환으로 2년이 넘는 기간 동안 체계적으로 기획된 페스티벌입니다. 단순히 해외의 뮤지션을 초청하여 국내에 소개하는 것을 목표로 하는 것이 아닌, 한국 뮤지션들이 세계 유명 뮤지션들과 함께 작업할 수 있는 기회 역시 제공, 음악을 매개로 한국문화가 세계와 소통하게 함을 목표로 합니다. 15개국 30개 팀의 세계 최정상급 뮤지션들이 참여할 예정입니다.

이 행사와 관련하여 8월 28일(토)에 인포마스터(INFOMaster) 업체에서 참석을 희망하는 WSK 학생들을 페스티벌이 열리는 광주까지 인솔 및 투어를 기획하고 있습니다.

11:00 - 13:30 인근 명소 투어 및 중식
13:30 - 14:00 공연장 입장
14:00 - 15:10 공연관람
15:10 - 17:00 월드뮤직페스티벌 행사장 관람
17:00 - 21:30 서울 이동 (이동 중 석식)
21:30 해 산
